Welcome to GobeFinder (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GobeFinder mobile application (the “App”) and any related services, websites, or features (collectively, the “Service”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using GobeFinder, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance & Age Requirements

  • Age Limit: You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account, submit food vendor locations, or vouch for vendor listings.
  • General Access: Users under 18 may browse the public map for information purposes only, subject to guidance from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Description of Service

GobeFinder is a community-driven, crowd-sourced platform designed to help users locate, discover, and verify local food vendors (starting with “gobe” vendors).

  • Browsing: The app allows anonymous browsing of food vendor locations and community-contributed details.
  • Crowd-Sourced Submissions: To submit a new vendor, upload verification data, or vouch for a vendor, users must authenticate using a valid mobile phone number via One-Time Password (OTP).

3. User Conduct & Acceptable Use

By using GobeFinder, you agree to submit accurate, truthful, and lawful information. You agree NOT to:

  1. Submit Fake or Misleading Locations: Pin non-existent vendors, incorrect GPS coordinates, or inaccurate vendor business details.
  2. Abuse & Spam: Submit duplicate vendor pins, post false vouches, or spam the API with automated scripts or bots.
  3. Upload Unlawful Content: Upload images or media containing offensive, explicit, copyrighted, defamatory, or unlawful material.
  4. Manipulate Moderation: Attempt to bypass our spatial anti-fraud systems (e.g., spoofing GPS locations to complete 30m radius proximity checks).
  5. Reverse Engineer: Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code or database schemas from the Service.

4. User-Generated Content (UGC) & License

  • Ownership: You retain ownership of any text, coordinates, or media hashes you submit through the Service.
  • License to GobeFinder: By submitting content (including vendor locations, names, descriptions, and verification vouches), you grant GobeFinder a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and transferable license to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute the submitted information for operating and promoting the Service.
  • Public Vendor Data: Vendor coordinates and business metadata submitted by users become part of our public crowd-sourced directory and may remain on the map in an anonymized form even if you delete your user profile.

5. Moderation & Account Termination

  • Content Review: We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to monitor, flag, modify, or remove any vendor pin, vouch, or submission that violates these Terms or fails community verification thresholds.
  • Account Suspension: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your phone-authenticated account or restrict your device access immediately, without prior notice, if you engage in malicious spamming, fraudulent submissions, or repeated violations of these Terms.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

A. “As-Is” Service

GobeFinder is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

B. Vendor Accuracy & Food Safety

  • GobeFinder does not own, operate, manage, endorse, or guarantee any food vendor listed on the map.
  • We make no warranties regarding the accuracy of vendor opening hours, food quality, hygiene, pricing, operational status, or health/safety compliance.
  • Users visit listed food vendors entirely at their own risk.

C. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GobeFinder, its developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of:

  • Your access to or inability to access or use the Service.
  • Any inaccurate vendor information, map errors, or service downtime.
  • Any interaction, purchase, or health issue resulting from visiting a third-party food vendor listed on the platform.

7. Account & Data Deletion

You may request the deletion of your account and phone number data at any time. Refer to Section 4 of our Privacy Policy for instructions on submitting a deletion request. Upon deletion, your personal identifiers will be purged within 14 calendar days, while public vendor map locations will remain anonymized.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of GobeFinder following the posting of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ghana, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
